Ranvir Shorey gives a mind boggling performance in the Hindi Movie Mithya. This movie is also the directorial venture of Rajat Kapoor. The story line is totally different and unique.
The story deals with an aspiring actor who due to circumstances gets entangled with the underworld. The story is similar in some aspects to the block buster movie Don. But the Director and the Writer twist the story in unique and interesting manner. The movies’ weakness is its climax. Apart from the climax almost everything in the movie is good. The first half of the movie is full of humor and fun, whereas the second half is full of emotions.
The costumes worn by Neha Dhupia reminds you of the 70s era and it is a welcome change from the current Hindi Movie scenario.
Overall the movie is worth watching for its costumes and acting performances by the star cast.
The much awaited Hindi Movie Jodha Akbar lives up to its expectation. It manages to mesmerize the audience inspite of all the controversies and delay in release dates. Movie of this epic proportion has been made after a very long time. Every thing about this movie is on a grand scale; be it the battle scenes, costumes, jewellery or the various sets. The best thing about the movie is the attention given to the various details which proves that the director has made the movie with heart and soul. In fact, Jodha Akbar is not a mere display of grandeur but is full of romance, action and drama.
The movie is set in the sixteenth century and deals with the love story of Emperor Akbar and Princess Jodha. It highlights how two different people from different religious and cultural background are brought together in holy matrimony for political reasons. This subject matter has not been covered in any of the movies of the past. The story slowly reveals the love story of Princess Jodha and Emperor Akbar.
The first half of the movie is interesting, especially the confrontation of Jodha and Badi Maa. It is really entertaining. And also the fight between Jodha and her brother is praiseworthy. Hrithik and Aishwarya have given excellent performances and it is visual treat for the eyes to see them in the royal costumes. Every actor in the movie succeeds in portraying the character.
Kiran Deohans’ cinematography, jewellery by Tanishq and costumes by Neeta Lulla leave the audience spell bound. The background score of the movie is quite good and the music blends beautifully with the era of the film.
Over all Jodha Akbar is a must watch Hindi Movie for its epic proportions.
Rating : *** ½
* Poor, ** Average, *** Good, **** Very Good, ***** Outstanding
If you have the patience of sitting through the first half, then you may enjoy this movie. The opening of the movie is quite boring and that is the main problem with this movie. The first half is loosely edited and has a weak script. The concept of this movie is good ,the plot is well hidden and the climax does manage to get you to the edge of the seat but finally the director forgot to work on the first half of the script.
Ajay Devgan is a corrupt police officer who falls in love with Ayesha Takia. In one of the parties Ayesha is drugged which makes her forget what she did on Sunday.Ajay along with his assistant try to unearth this very secret throughout the movie and they are helped by Arshad Warsi and Imran Khan.
The duo Arshad and Imran have very good sense of comedy and make you laugh throughout the film. Their roles are fantastic and add the much needed comic relief to the film. Imran is a budding actor who wants to rock the hindi movie industry and Arshad Warsi is a taxi driver who does not find anything funny in life which is contrary to what audience thinks. After quite some time we get to see good comedy and that to of a different genre.
Ajay Devgan has acted well and so has Ayesha. In fact Ayesha has experimented with her role. Her dubbing scenes are good and worth a watch. The music is wash out with nothing worth mentioning.
To sum it up this is not a out of the world film and this kind of stories have been repeated many times, so if you have nothing else to do and plenty of money to spend , go and watch this movie.
The making of Jodha Akbar has taken pretty long time. Though the music was launched on 15 Jan it took another 10 days for the music to reach the market, but the good news is that it was worth the wait. Firstly the music is not hip hop, as the story line demands it to be full of melody. A R Rahamn’s scores are melodious and are soothing to hear. So in that sense this album is very good and full ‘Paisa Vasul’.
The album consists of 5 songs and two instrumentals. Out of the 5 songs ‘Khwaja Mere Khwaja’ is really good and Rahman really steals the show with this melodious song. The music and the lyrics blend beautifully and that is what is rarely achieved by the current music directors. The opening track Azeem-O- Shaan Shahensha manages to bring the Mughal era to life and Jashn-E-Bahaaraa is already risen towards the top in music chart. The ‘Mann Mohanaa’ track is full of meaning and is pleasing to the ears.
This music album is an outcome of great dedication and hard work. It is definitely the best work for the current year and will surely top the music charts.
Sylvester Stallone has given a befitting sequel to the Rambo series. This latest Rambo movie is an edge of the seat action movie which never fails to increase your adrenalin flow. The story line as usual deals with the Americans saving the world. In this movie Rambo saves the Burmese from a military tyrant. The action sequences are great and thrilling especially the scene in which Rambo saves the missionaries from getting butchered; that was a good , chilling action packed scene.
The story unfolds in a interesting way with Rambo hesitating to enter the war thinking he cannot change anything. But a young missionary manages to change his opinion and he joins the war against tyranny. The script is well written and the characters have given good performances. Sylvester Stallone looks old but that does not stop him to rekindle the fire of the Rambo series. We are sure Rambo fans will not be disappointed with this latest film. The movie has lots of violence and thus is not recommended for the weak hearted audience. Don’t be surprised to see legs been cut and stomachs been torn apart.
This is must see for all die hard Rambo fans, don’ t miss it.
Recently in one of the interviews ,Hrithik had accepted that his knee is in bad shape. He went on to add that the credit goes to Dhoom-2 and Krissh. He calls his knee as Krisshdhoomed for it was during the filming of these two movies that he had developed the knee pain.It is said that Hrithik had a bad knee throughout the shooting of these two Hindi movies but like a true professional he did not allow the shooting to be stopped. He simply used to strap up his knees and continue with the action scenes inspite of his body being in intense pain.
The doctors have told him to take complete rest else the damage may get irreparable. So our Duggu has decided to take good care of his knee and has left for Singapore to take complete rest and rejuvenation.
The recent delays in the music and movie release of Jodha Akbar will only help Duggu. We wish he does a speedy recovery and continues to entertain us.
Director E Nivas has worked wonders with a novice like Nikhil Dwivedi. The script and the pace of the movie is good. The acting of the supporting cast is a treat to watch. They are really seasoned actors with exceptional acting skills.

Amrita Rao is as bubbly as ever; she is cute and fits in her character well. The trio Pawan Malhotra,Mukesh Tiwari and Daya Shanker Pandey are the real scene stealer’s.There acting is exceptional. Pawan Malhotra as the don with a good heart is the anchor of this film.He brings his character to life.Nikhil Dwivedi gives a fantastic performance inspite of his being a debutant actor; quite unexpected.
The music of the movie is catchy. The movie is slightly slow and dragging in the first half. The script is well written and the dialogue are witty. So go and watch this movie.
Intense, gripping and thought provoking; that’s Halla Bol. It’s a gripping story of a super star who dares to stand against crime. The storyline, script and direction are fantastic. The most astounding part of the movie is performances by its actors -Simply soul stirring. Pankaj Kapoor portrays his character with textbook precision. He is spontaneous in his dialogue delivery and is the life of the film. Ajay Devgan and Vidya Balan do justice to their characters.
Ajay Devgan is a super star who has reached the top after lot of hard work. He is sincere man, but the fast life as a super star takes its toll. He gets carried away by the glamorous life and forgets his real self. He believes that to stay in business he has to lie, cheat and sleep around with beautiful girls. He stays quiet because he fears that the high profile murder case can spoil his career. Somehow he remembers the rebuking of his guru and thus decides to fight against the crime.
The best part of the film is , it makes you laugh inspite of the intensity and seriousness. The humour does not spoil the mood of the film. The songs are nothing special infact one of the songs is poorly picturised and is totally misfit.
The pace of the first half is fast and is full of exceptional performances. The second half is predictable but interesting to watch. The movie is a product of intense research by the director. The hard work is seen in the film. The movie entertains you inspite of its serious subject and that is rarely achieved by film directors.
Overall a great movie ;full of mind blowing performances.
Recently when Tabu was in the city of New York, she got the biggest compliment of her life. The praise came from Uma Thurman ,the star of Kill Bill fame. The famous actor remarked ,’I have seen the movie ‘The Namesake’ and the performance by this brave actor Tabu is my favorite one this year, she is simply great’.Tabu took the compliment with a smile. Now that is humility, hat’s off to Tabu.
